Dr Faith Liao,
Associate Professor in Medical Education and Person-Centred Care at Taipei Medical University. Faith's work sits at the intersection of person-centred medical education, human flourishing, and technology-enhanced learning. Faith co-creates curricula and simulation resources with clinicians and students, and I lead mixed-methods studies on communication, wellbeing, professionalism, and Rogerian therapeutic relationships. Faith is particularly interested in how innovative healthcare science and supportive care prescribing can strengthen primary care learning and everyday GP and attending physician consultations. Faith aims to contribute to the human flourishing society in medical education by sharing tools for curriculum design and evaluation, co-authoring practice-informed research, and supporting study days and small interest groups.
Faith's research interests are at the interface of medical education and human flourishing. Faith's research is focused on the development of therapeutic pedagogy and pedagogy of human flourishing in medical education, and the relevant topic such as autonomy for learning from home during the COVID19 pandemic; therapeutic relationship, wellbeing and authenticity; person-centred experiential e-learning and spiritual care. Currently, Faith is supervising master students completing on relevant topics such as the well-being of adolescents and young people with cancer.
Faith is keen to hear from potential master students or practitioners with an interest in medical education, holistic health and their links with wellbeing.
