Born and raised in Shanghai, Dr. Minnie Li obtained her Bachelor degree in Sociology from Fudan University. With her focus on Medical Sociology, Chinese lesbians’ self-identities and stress experiences, and the impact of social networks on mental health among sexual minority groups, she received both M.Phil and Ph.D. degree in Sociology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Minnie was a lecturer of Department of Sociology at CUHK, before joining Department of Social Sciences at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) in 2018. Her teaching experience includes subjects on gender and sexuality, Chinese society, society and culture, and globalization. What Minnie believes in education is that teaching and learning is mutually beneficial and a process of communication and reflection. She looks forward not only to sharing her point of view with my students, but also to getting inspired by their perspectives.
